Overview

First established in 1924, the Ocean University of China, it has grown to 3 campuses with 30,000 enrolled students and 2000 staff. With Qingdao achieving Tier 1 city status, the desire is to unify the disparate facilities and establish a global home for the university in Huangdao. The new university will be a catalyst for a new urban area south of Qingdao. The master plan suggests how water and land meet and integrate in a full sustainable Carbon neutral campus housing 6 major facilities, housing, sport, entertainment and an international conference centre.
