Overview

Butler’s Wharf was under performing mixed-use development on what was once a dilapidated area of prime riverside frontage. The time was ripe for investment in these buildings; loft living was becoming acceptable. The existing listed Victorian warehouses were divided to create a rational concept of open, spacious apartments. The floor plates were reworked to achieve front to back vistas in each, connecting the river through to Shad Thames. Remote controlled hydraulic pivots allowed the open plan apartments to be opened up or closed down by the easy repositioning of internal walls. Elegant fixtures and artwork were added to maintain the simplicity of the design.
