Overview

Prior to the dissolution of the London Dockland Development Agency, permission was required to be granted for all land held under their authority and for future development under SOM’s master plan for Canary Wharf. Consent was granted for a 40–storey office building with provision for the new Museum of the Docklands to sit at its base. The convoluted process to satisfy over 25 vested authorities was exceedingly complex, but full approval was achieved within 9 months of commission.
